Use a private AI coach agent during live sales calls

A sales call coach agent reads the live transcript and privately nudges the seller: a discovery question not yet asked, an objection left hanging, a call ending without a next step. Keep it private by leaving Join meetings and talk off, so cues appear only in the Assistant. The seller decides what to say, and the customer never hears the coach.

The job: quiet cues, not a script

Sellers lose track of discovery mid-conversation. They pitch before learning who decides, or let a pricing concern pass without a question. A coach agent watches for those gaps and points out one at a time.

It doesn't speak for the seller or judge the prospect. It's a second pair of ears that the seller can ignore.

What the coach can observe

Every agent reads the meeting transcript. Other inputs depend on the abilities and tools you turn on, and on where the call happens.

Start from the Deal Coach template

Choose Create Agent from the sidebar. Bridge shows six starter templates drawn at random from 20, and Deal Coach is one of the pool. Selecting it fills in the name, instructions, avatar and some tool and trigger settings.

Read what it fills in before saving, then adjust it to your sales process. If Deal Coach isn't among the six shown, start blank and paste the instructions below. Turn on Hide from workspace sidebar if the coach is just for you.

Sample instructions you can adapt

Instructions can run to 4,000 characters. This illustrative set is much shorter and only uses what the agent can actually observe:

  • You coach the seller privately during live sales calls. Never address the prospect.
  • From the transcript, track four discovery topics: the problem, its business impact, who decides, and when they need a solution. When one is still missing, suggest a single open question for it.
  • When the prospect raises a concern about price, timing or another vendor, suggest one clarifying question. Don't write a rebuttal.
  • When the seller says they're wrapping up, check whether a next step with an owner and a date was agreed. If not, say so.
  • If the prospect refers to an earlier call, use notes search and quote what was said.
  • Keep each cue under 25 words. If you aren't sure a cue helps, stay silent.

Trigger, cooldown and privacy settings

The coach needs no clock. It reacts to what is said, so the wrap-up check fires when the seller signals the end out loud.

TriggerProactively during meetingsThe coach watches the conversation without being asked
Activation trigger (up to 1,200 characters)"When a discovery topic is still missing, the prospect raises a concern, or the seller starts wrapping up"Narrows when it speaks up. Left blank, Bridge writes one from the instructions.

Using it on a call

On a call hosted on Bridge, open the Assistant panel. Its proactive agent toggles set which agents can act during the call, so check that the coach is on. Guests without a Bridge account don't get the Assistant panel, so a prospect joining as a guest can't see the cues.

For Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, Bridge needs to capture the call. Either Bridge Agent joins as a participant once the host admits it, or the Bridge desktop app for Mac records bot-free. Cues still arrive in your Assistant.

Keep the seller in charge

  • Each cue is a suggestion. The seller chooses whether to use it, and the coach can misread the conversation.
  • Test it first: open the Assistant on a recap of a call you remember, @mention the coach and ask what it would have flagged.
  • Tell prospects the call is being recorded or transcribed, and follow your company's recording policy.
  • Use a separate agent for checking facts or drafting follow-ups. One narrow job per agent keeps cues readable.

Plans and credits

  • Creating and using agents needs a paid Bridge plan. New accounts start with a 14-day Professional trial.
  • Proactive agents run on Live AI Credits, included with paid plans.
  • Bridge notifies you in-app when 80% of your credits are used and again when they run out. Auto-reload can buy more, within a monthly cap you set.
