Use Bridge with Google Meet: capture calls and import Meet transcripts
You can bring Google Meet calls into Bridge three ways: send Bridge Agent to the call, record bot-free with the Mac desktop app, or import the transcripts Google Meet already saved. Bridge Agent needs no Google Meet connection, but the host has to admit it. Transcript import only works for meetings where someone turned on Meet transcripts.
Choose how to capture
Pick by whether the call is upcoming or already over. Every option puts the meeting in the same Meetings list, with notes, the Assistant, Memory and spaces.
| Option | How it works | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Bridge Agent | Joins the Meet call as a participant after the host admits it | Calls on your calendar, or any Meet link you paste |
| Mac desktop app | Records your computer's audio; nothing joins the call | Calls you attend on an Apple Silicon Mac |
| Google Meet transcript import | Imports transcripts Meet already created, and can keep syncing | Past meetings, and meetings where Meet's transcript was on |
Send Bridge Agent to a Meet call
To add it once, click New, choose Capture on Zoom, Meet, or Teams and paste the Meet link. Then select Add To Meeting, and the live Capture view opens.
Paste the meet.google.com link itself where you can. If you copy Meet's full join info, Bridge strips the dial-in numbers and other details and keeps only the meeting URL.
- No Google Meet connection is needed. Bridge Agent can join Meet calls without you authorizing anything in Google.
- To add it automatically, connect Google Calendar or Outlook and turn on Agent Auto-Join in Preferences.
- Auto-Join can be limited to meetings you host, meetings where everyone shares your email domain, or meetings you accepted. It joins at the start time, or 2 or 5 minutes early.
- Meetings the agent will join automatically show a lightning bolt on the meeting card.
Who admits Bridge Agent in Meet
Bridge Agent asks to join like any other participant. Only the host can let it in, and often only the host sees it waiting.
If you aren't the host, tell them to expect it before the call. In Preferences, Agent Customization lets you set the agent's image; the custom name applies only on Zoom and Teams.
Record Meet bot-free with the Mac app
The desktop app runs on Apple Silicon Macs. It records your computer's audio, so no extra participant appears in the Meet call.
- Select Download for Mac, install the app and sign in.
- Allow microphone, screen and accessibility permissions, then restart Bridge.
- Join your Meet call. Once the app detects it, use Record Virtual Audio.
- To record whenever a meeting is detected, turn on Desktop App Auto-Record in Preferences.
Import Google Meet transcripts
Go to Account settings, then Integrations, then Notetakers, and connect Google Meet Transcripts. You can also choose Import transcripts from New.
Pick how far back to import: past month, 3 months, 6 months, past year or all time. If you also sync future transcripts, Bridge checks for new ones daily. Imported meetings land under Meetings → Completed with a source icon.
- Google Meet transcript import shares one Google sign-in with the Google Docs integration. Disconnecting Google Docs also affects Meet transcript imports.
- To stop future syncing, disconnect Google Meet Transcripts in Integrations.
What has to be true on the Google side
Bridge can only import a transcript Meet actually created. Google's help center lists the conditions, and they're worth checking before you count on import.
- Edition: Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Standard and Plus, Teaching and Learning Upgrade, Education Plus and Workspace Individual.
- Someone turned transcripts on in that meeting. With host management on, only hosts and co-hosts can.
- Transcripts start from a computer or Android device, in supported languages such as English, French, German and Spanish.
- Meet saves the transcript in the organizer's Drive, in the Google Meet folder, and attaches it to the Calendar event. Your organization and the host need Drive space.
What works during a captured Meet call
A Meet call captured by Bridge Agent or the Mac app still gets a live transcript, Artifacts, the Assistant and your private Notepad. The Participants panel needs a connected calendar.
Use Meet's own chat. Bridge's Chat panel is only in meetings hosted on Bridge.
- Your custom agents can read the transcript, but they can't hear or see through Google Meet.
- Hearing works in Bridge-hosted meetings and in-person capture; screen access only in Bridge-hosted meetings.
- After the call, notes, recaps and after-every-meeting agents work as on any other meeting.
If capture doesn't start
- Agent never arrived: check that the link is a Google Meet URL, not a calendar description or dial-in number.
- Agent is stuck waiting: ask the host to admit it. Other participants usually can't see it.
- Auto-Join skipped a call: check that your calendar is connected and the event has a Meet link. Then check your Auto-Join limits.
- Mac app won't record: confirm microphone, screen and accessibility permissions in macOS settings, and that a meeting was detected.
- A meeting is missing from import: check that Meet created a transcript for it in the organizer's Drive.
