Example output

Discovery Call with Harbor Dental Group

A sample qualification summary. Yours follows the same layout.

Prospect snapshot

Marta Silva runs operations for Harbor Dental Group, three clinics with a fourth opening in March. She reached out because no-shows hit about 18 percent last quarter and the front desk spends its mornings confirming appointments by phone. Pain, current process and timeline are clear; budget and the purchase process are still unknown.

Pain points

  • No-show rate of around 18 percent last quarter

Impact: Each empty hygiene slot is roughly 120 dollars of lost revenue.

  • Front desk staff confirm appointments by phone

Impact: About 12 hours a week across the three clinics.

Current solution and process

  • Dentrix sends an email reminder two days before; patients rarely read it

  • Front desk calls each patient the morning of the appointment

  • Looked briefly at Weave but it felt like too much, since they don't need a phone system

Budget

Budget wasn't discussed.

Decision makers and process

  • Marta Silva

    Runs the evaluation

  • Dr. Chen, owner of the group

Final say on anything they sign

  • Office managers

Need to like the tool before it is chosen

Timeline and urgency

  • Wants it in place before the fourth clinic opens in March

Success criteria

  • No-show rate under 8 percent within six months

  • Front desk no longer spends mornings on the phone

  3. 3

    Unknown: Purchase process

  4. 4

Know what you learned, and what you didn't, on a first call

A discovery call is meant to answer one question: is this a real opportunity, and what would it take to win it? Most first calls feel productive and still leave holes. The prospect described the pain at length, but nobody asked what it costs them. You know who you spoke to, but not who signs. Those holes usually surface weeks later, when the deal stalls in procurement or the economic buyer appears for the first time.

The Discovery Call Summarizer sorts what the prospect actually said into the parts of a qualification: pain points with the business impact they put on them, how they handle the problem today, budget, the people involved in the decision and the steps a purchase goes through, timeline and what is driving it, and how they will judge success. If you qualify with BANT, MEDDIC or SPICED, the headings map onto your framework, but the output reports evidence, not a score.

Anything the call did not cover stays empty. It never infers a budget from company size or decision power from a job title. Instead, each unknown becomes a qualification gap: a concrete, open question to ask on the next call, specific to this prospect, with the most important ones (usually the economic buyer, budget and timeline) first.

When to run it

Deciding whether to move a lead forward

SDRs and AEs can see in one page whether there is real pain, a path to a decision and a reason to act now, before booking a demo.

Planning the second call

Open the call with the qualification gaps instead of repeating questions the prospect already answered.

Handing a qualified lead from SDR to AE

The account executive gets the pain, the people and the timeline in the prospect's own terms, plus what nobody asked yet.

Reviewing discovery quality with your team

Managers can spot which parts of discovery reps tend to skip, such as the decision process or success criteria, across calls.

Frequently asked questions

What should a discovery call summary include?

The prospect's pain and what it costs them, how they solve it today, budget, who is involved in the decision and how they buy, the timeline and its driver, how they will measure success, and the open questions you still need answered.

Does it score leads with BANT or MEDDIC?

It does not give a score. The sections line up with BANT and MEDDIC (budget, authority, need, timeline, decision process, criteria), but you see the evidence behind each one and decide how qualified the opportunity is yourself.

What happens when budget or timeline never came up?

That section stays empty and the topic is listed as a qualification gap with a question you can ask next time. Nothing is guessed from the prospect's industry, size or job title.

How is this different from the AI sales call summarizer?

This tool qualifies a first conversation. The sales call summarizer is for the calls that follow, when you need objections, pricing discussions and next steps logged in your CRM.

Who can see my qualification summary?

Anyone you send the link to, such as your AE or manager. Links are long and random, summaries are never listed or indexed by search engines, and your prospect's transcript is not used to train AI models.

Can Bridge brief me before the second call?

Yes. With a free Bridge account, your calls are recorded and transcribed, and Bridge prepares a brief before each meeting from your earlier conversations with that account. See meeting prep →
