Set up meeting notifications: what goes in-app, to email or to Slack
Bridge sends notifications through three channels: the in-app bell, email and Slack. Choose channels by how fast you need to act: in-app for things you answer in minutes, email for things you read once a week. Two channels are locked on: email for meeting access requests and in-app for Live AI credit alerts.
Where notifications live
The bell sits beside the workspace selector in the sidebar. When the sidebar is collapsed, it moves inside the workspace menu. A badge counts unread notifications, up to 9+.
Open the bell to see the panel. Select a notification and Bridge marks it read and takes you to the meeting, space or recap it's about.
- All and Unread tabs, so you can see only what you haven't handled.
- Mark all as read, for clearing the badge after time away.
- A link straight to your notification settings.
The three channels
You manage everything in Account settings → Preferences → Notifications. Each notification type has its own row, and the channels on offer differ by row. Digests are email-only, and locked rows show Always on.
| Channel | Where it arrives | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| In-app | The bell in the Bridge sidebar | Nothing extra |
| Your account email, as single emails or digests | Nothing extra | |
| Slack | Your Slack workspace | A connected Slack account |
What each notification is for
Defaults are a starting point. Here is what each type tells you and how it starts out.
| Notification | What it tells you | Starts as |
|---|---|---|
| Space shared with you | Someone shared a space of meetings with you | In-app on |
| Meeting added to a shared space | New meeting in a space you share | In-app on |
| Recap invite | Someone invited you to a meeting recap | In-app and email on |
| Meeting access request | Someone asked to join one of your meetings | Email on, and email can't be turned off |
| Live AI credits | You've used 80% of your Live AI credits, or all of them | In-app on, and in-app can't be turned off |
| Brief reminder | A meeting starts in 10 minutes, with a link to its brief | Off; needs a connected calendar |
| Agent messages | A scheduled or post-meeting agent has posted a result | Off |
The two alerts you can't switch off
Locked channels show as checked and disabled, with an Always on label. Plan the rest of your setup around them.
Access requests always reach your email, even if you never open Bridge. Live AI credit alerts always appear in the bell, once at 80% usage and once when credits are gone.
Email digests for the weekly view
Two settings are email-only. They suit people who would rather read one message than react to many.
- Email me an overview of my meetings last week: a recap digest that arrives Monday morning.
- Email me the brief 10 minutes before my upcoming meeting: the brief itself in your inbox. This needs a connected calendar.
- The notification panel also describes a weekly review of upcoming meetings. Check your Email digests settings for the options your account shows.
Pick a channel by how fast you must act
Ask one question per notification: when do I need to do something about this? Then send it where you'll be looking at that moment.
- Avoid sending one alert to all three channels. You'll handle it once and dismiss it twice.
- Slack needs a connected Slack account. After you connect it, check which rows in your settings offer Slack before you plan around it.
| If you need to act… | Send it to | Typical notifications |
|---|---|---|
| Within minutes | In-app, with the bell in view | Access requests, brief reminders |
| Some time today | In-app, and clear it from the Unread tab | Recap invites, shared spaces, agent messages |
| This week, or never | An email digest, or nowhere | Last week's overview, meetings added to busy spaces |
Two example setups
These are illustrative setups, not recommendations for every team. Adjust them to how you work.
| Notification | Example A: a host who admits many guests | Example B: someone who wants a weekly digest |
|---|---|---|
| Access requests | In-app on, so Approve or Deny is one click. Email stays on regardless. | Email only, the locked default |
| Brief reminder | In-app on, to open the brief before each call | Off; uses the brief email instead |
| Recap invites | In-app only | Email only |
| Shared spaces | In-app on | Off |
| Agent messages | In-app on | Off; results are checked in Bridge when needed |
| Last week's overview | Off | On |
For hosts: act on access requests from the panel
An in-app access request shows who is asking, a role choice and Approve and Deny buttons. Member can view and manage the meeting. Guest can only view it.
Fewer requests is often the better fix than faster alerts. Your meeting access setting decides who has to ask at all.
If you run agents
Agent message notifications tell you when a scheduled agent or an after-every-meeting agent has finished. Turn them on in at least one channel. Scheduled agent results also wait on the workspace Assistant page and under Chats. An agent posting to Slack through a connector is separate from this notification.
Agents with schedules and post-meeting triggers need a paid plan, so free accounts can leave this row off.
