AI Action Item Extractor
Pull every task out of a meeting transcript, with who owns it and when it's due, in a list you can paste straight into your tracker.
How it works
Add the transcript
Upload a .txt, .vtt, .srt or PDF export from Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, or paste your notes.
Get the task list
Bridge lists each task with its owner, due date and priority, then the unowned work and the soft promises.
Paste it into your tracker
Copy the list as Markdown into Jira, Asana, Linear, Trello, Notion or a Slack thread.

Every task from the call, ready for your tracker
Tasks rarely get assigned at a neat moment at the end of a meeting. They are agreed in passing ("I can take that", "can you send it by Friday?") and forgotten by the next stand-up. The AI Action Item Extractor reads the whole transcript and gives you only the work: one line per task, starting with a verb, written so it still makes sense when it lands in Jira, Asana, Linear or Trello without the context of the call.
Each action item carries the owner as they were named, the due date in the words that were used ("Thursday", "end of sprint"), a priority when someone called it urgent or a nice-to-have, and a short note on what it depends on or what done looks like. Two people owning different halves of a job become two tasks.
Two lists catch what usually slips. "Needs an owner" collects work the group agreed must happen but nobody claimed. "Follow-ups to confirm" holds the soft promises ("I'll try", "I can probably look at it") so you can turn them into real commitments or drop them. Owners and dates are never filled in by the AI.
Where a clean task list helps
Sprint planning and stand-ups
Engineering leads turn a planning call into tickets with owners and dates in minutes, instead of rewatching the recording.
Project and client status calls
Project managers capture what each side promised so the next status update starts from a list, not from memory.
Cross-team handoffs
When marketing, sales and product meet, the unowned work is listed on its own so it gets assigned before it is lost.
Chasing commitments after the call
Paste the list into a channel or email and tag each owner, with the vague promises flagged for a quick yes or no.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as an action item in a meeting?
A specific piece of work someone agreed to do after the meeting, ideally with one owner and a deadline. Decisions, opinions and general discussion are not action items unless they create a task.
How does it work out who owns each task?
Only from the conversation: the person who said they would do it, or who was asked and agreed. Speaker labels in the transcript make this more reliable. When nobody took a task on, it goes under "Needs an owner" instead of being given to someone.
Does it guess due dates?
No. A due date appears only when one was said, and it is kept in the words used, such as "next Friday" or "before the launch". Tasks without a deadline simply have none.
Can I import the tasks into Jira, Asana or Trello?
Copy the list as Markdown checkboxes and paste it into a ticket, a Notion page, a Linear issue or a Trello card checklist. Each line already starts with a verb and includes the owner and date, so little editing is needed.
Who can see my task list?
Only people who have the link. It is a long random address, task lists never appear in search results or any public listing, and Bridge does not use your transcript to train AI models.
Can Bridge capture action items after every meeting?
Yes. With a free Bridge account your meetings are recorded and transcribed, and action items are pulled out after every call so you can follow up the same day. Learn more →
