Example transcript

Every word, by speaker and time

The first minute of a sample call. Your transcript comes with an overview, the topics with timestamps and the talk time of each speaker.

Transcript

  1. Speaker 10:00

Morning, thanks for making time. I've got Dana from our delivery side on the line as well.

  2. Speaker 20:07

Morning. Happy to. The main thing for me is the delivery time. Since we started opening at seven, a 7:30 drop means the first customers get yesterday's bread.

  3. Speaker 30:41

We can do 6:45 on weekdays if Linden is first on the route. Saturdays would have to stay at 7:30, the van does the market first.

  4. Speaker 20:52

Saturdays are fine. It's really Monday to Friday that hurts.

  5. Speaker 10:58

Okay, so 6:45 Monday to Friday, starting next week. Dana, can you change the route sheet?

  6. Speaker 31:06

Yes, I'll have it updated by Thursday.

A written record of a recording nobody wants to replay

A recording holds everything that was said, but it is slow to use. Finding the moment a price was agreed means scrubbing through the audio, and you can't paste a voice memo into an email or search it for a name. A transcript turns the same conversation into text you can skim in a few minutes, quote exactly and keep with the rest of your notes.

The Meeting Transcript Generator writes down every word of your recording and splits it into turns by speaker, labeled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, with the time each turn starts. On top of the transcript you get a short overview of what the conversation is about, the topics in the order they came up with a timestamp for each, and how long each speaker talked. The overview only describes what was said; it never adds names, numbers or decisions that aren't in the audio.

It is built for recordings that don't come with a transcript: a call recorded on your phone, an in-person meeting captured on a laptop, a Zoom or Teams recording saved without captions, or a voice memo of a site visit. Upload an MP3, M4A, MP4, WAV, WebM, MOV, OGG, FLAC or AAC file up to 200 MB and 30 minutes long.

When you have the audio but not the words

In-person meetings recorded on a phone

Turn a board meeting, a client workshop or a site walk-through captured on your phone into text you can file and share with the people who were there.

Customer and research interviews

Get the exact words a customer used, with the timestamp, so you can quote them in a research report instead of paraphrasing from memory.

Calls recorded without captions

Older Zoom, Teams or phone-system recordings often have no transcript attached. Upload the file and get one, split by speaker.

Feeding other tools

Once the transcript exists, run the summarizer or another free Bridge tool on it in one click, without copying text between pages.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn a meeting recording into a transcript?

Upload the audio or video file on this page. The recording is transcribed in the background, usually within a minute or two for a 30 minute file, and you get a transcript split by speaker with timestamps that you can copy, download or share.

Is the meeting transcript generator free?

Yes. You can transcribe a few recordings an hour without creating an account or adding a card. Each recording can be up to 30 minutes long.

Which file types and sizes can I upload?

MP3, M4A, MP4, WAV, WebM, MOV, OGG, FLAC and AAC files up to 200 MB and 30 minutes. For a longer meeting, split the recording into parts and transcribe each one.

Does the transcript show who said what?

Yes. Each turn is labeled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, with the time it starts. Speaker detection works best when people don't talk over each other and each voice is clearly audible.

What happens to my recording after it is transcribed?

Your recording is transcribed by a third-party speech-to-text provider, then deleted from our storage once processing finishes. Uploads that are never transcribed are removed automatically. The transcript stays on a private link that is never listed or indexed, so only people you share it with can open it.

Can Bridge transcribe my meetings automatically?

Yes. Create a free Bridge account to record your online and in-person meetings and get a transcript, notes and follow-ups after every call, without uploading files. Learn more →
